Kenneth W. Stubbert, age 79, of Columbus, died Monday; May 21, 2001 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services are 10:30 am Friday; May 25, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. Visitation is 3-8 pm Thursday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.Visiatation will continue Friday 9:30 am until service time at the church. The Rev. M. Wendell Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the David City Cemetery.
Kenneth William Stubbert was born April 6, 1922 in Dodge County, Nebraska to Carroll and Leona (Renter) Stubbert. He attended Dodge County Schools and graduated from Scribner High School in 1940. On January 6, 1952 he was united in marriage to Lois Ann Conrad in David City, Nebraska. He moved to Columbus in 1958. Kenneth worked as a carpenter for 18 years with Johansen Construction and then independently for 5 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he worked as a caretaker and custodian for 7 years. He was a ballroom dancer instructor for 19 years in Columbus & Fremont, and enjoyed making crafts. He was a peer volunteer for the Assistive Technology Partnership for the Handicap-(ATP).
