Kenneth Leischner of Columbus died Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Federated Church in Columbus. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the McKown Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery.

Kenneth was born March 1, 1949 in Parkston, South Dakota to Erwin and Lucinda (DeClue) Leischner. He grew up in Parkston and graduated high school in 1967. He attended Yankton College and the University of South Dakota. He married Kathy Juhnke on July 24, 1970. They lived in Sioux Falls and Sandstone, Minnesota before moving to Columbus in 1989. He served as the Senior Pastor at Federated Church and later as an interim pastor at many churches throughout the country. Kenn was an avid Husker fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Son: Grant (Mykin) Leischner
Daughter: Jessica (Matthew) McCulley
Daughter: Abbie (Jacob) Oran
6 Grandchildren: Meadow, Brock, Beckett, Julian, Dominic & Elliott
Brothers: Gerry (Jan) Leischner and Greg (Amanda) Leischner

He was preceded in death by his father, Erwin.
