Kenneth F. Krings, 57, of Columbus died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services are 9:30 am Saturday, October 8, 2005 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with the Reverend Del Lape & Reverend Mark Tomasiewicz officiating. Visitation is on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at McKown Funeral Home. There will be a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm Friday, also at the funeral home. Visitation continues Saturday morning from 8:00 - 9:00 am at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Scotus Endowment Fund or to the donor's choice.
Kenneth Krings was born May 1, 1948 in Columbus, Nebraska to Joseph H. and Angeline (Stach) Krings. He graduated from Scotus High School in 1966 and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1971 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a Regents Scholarship and graduated number one out of a class of five thousand. Ken worked for NPPD until retiring in July of 2003. He married Margaret Gorecki on June 17, 1978 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Ken was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed gardening.
