Kenneth E. Greiner, Sr. of Columbus died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Mory's Haven in Columbus.

Ken was born February, 14, 1924 in Columbus to Chris and Bertha (Heibel) Greiner. He graduated from Kramer High School Columbus, in 1942. On September 8, 1947, he was united in marriage to Betty Ewert at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Columbus.

Ken worked for Greiner's Market from 1942 to 1952. He attended and was a graduate of the Reifch America School of Auctioneering. Ken then worked for George Ewert Implement from 1953 to 1960. From 1961 to 1995 he co-owned Greiner furniture with his wife. They also managed real estate property.

Ken was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus, life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 938, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1834, Platte County Historical Society, and past member of the Carousel Dance Club. Ken had a private pilots license from 1971 to 1992 and was a past member of the Sky Roamers Flying Club.

Ken enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling, flying, golf, taking part in his grandchildren's events, and having coffee with his coffee buddies.

He is survived by:

Son Tom Greiner of Honduras
Son Jim (Elena)Greiner of Henderson, Nevada
Granddaughters Shauna (Eric) Flach of Springfield, Missouri, Shelby and Betty Greiner of Omaha
Grandsons Ryan Greiner of Chicago, Illinois, Colby Greiner of Gallatin Gateway, Montana, Kenny and Tommy Greiner of Omaha, Michael, Matthew, and Mitchell Greiner of Columbus, and Sergio Greiner of Henderson, Nevada.
