Kathryn "Kak" Diederich of Madison, formerly of Columbus, died Thursday January 3, 2013 at the Countryside Home in Madison.
Kathryn Evelyn Diederich was born on September 6, 1920, in Humboldt, Nebraska to Frank and Clara Belle (Hickman) Parker. She attended school in Humboldt. Kathryn was united in marriage to Clarence Diederich on June 29, 1937, at St. Marys Church in Dawson, NE, and they were married for 66 years until Clarence's death on September 19, 2003. The couple moved to Detroit, MI, where they lived until 1961. They then moved to Humphrey, Nebraska, where they owned and operated Diederichs Tavern until 1970, when they moved to Columbus. Kak worked at Becton-Dickinson until retirement. She was a very talented woman who loved to do ceramics, crochet, sew, and many other crafty things. She also enjoyed her time working at the Columbus Senior Center as a volunteer. Kak had many friends who she loved spending time with, but, more than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
