Karen Novak, age 75, of Columbus died Monday, February 3, 2014 in Lincoln.
Karen K. Novak was born December 26, 1938 in rural Platte County, Nebraska to Louis and Edith (Langan) Gronenthal. She received her early education at Wattsville country school, St. Joseph Parochial School and graduated from Platte Center High in 1956. She married Billy Novak in Platte Center. They lived in various areas including Platte Center, Columbus, Schuyler and Elgin where they have been involved in their agriculture and farming businesses. She was active her childrens 4-H and athletic activities. She continued with her grandchildren, enjoying their numerous activities. She enjoyed decorating her home, especially at Christmas. Above all she most enjoyed spending time with her family.

2 great grandchildren: Pippa, Bennett
Brother: Tim (Joanne) Gronenthal of Platte Center
Sister: Diane (Bruce) Schmidt of Columbus
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Vivian Mazerolle, brother: John Gronenthal and 2 grandchildren.
