June Stapleton

June Stapleton, age 63, died Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at the Concord Cemetery in Concord, NE at approximately 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of plants and flowers, the family requests memorials be given for future designation.

June L. Stapleton, 63, Columbus (Duncan Lakes) entered eternal life on December 6, 2023. She was born in Wakefield, NE on June 17,1960, to Matt & Bonnie Stapleton. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Allen, NE. June graduated from Allen Consolidated Schools in 1978 she continued her education at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where she pledged Kappa Delta and later attended Northeast Community College studying data processing. June took great pride and shared with everyone she could; the fact that she started working at age 12 walking beans and detasseling. She held various jobs throughout her career including work at the Norfolk Daily News, Glenn Kluck Feedlot, and recently retired from Nebraska Public Power District after 24 years of service. June loved the outdoors, spending time on her boat, taking vacations, playing cards, going to auctions where she could not turn down a good deal, being the "fun party" organizer and spending time with her family and numerous friends. She is survived by brother John (Sue) Stapleton, sister Lori (Dale) Jackson, sister-in-law Carol Jean Stapleton, nephews and nieces Greg, Carla, Ben, Jay, Tammy, Tracey, Derek & Natalie, several great nephews and nieces and her dog Millie. She is preceded in death by parents Matt & Bonnie Stapleton, stepmother Lois Stapleton and brother Jim Stapleton.
