June Olcott of Columbus died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.
June was born February 12, 1928 in Garrison, Nebraska to Fred and Alice (Winkelman) Dallegge. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Garrison. On January 15, 1947 she was united in marriage to Carroll A. Olcott in Garrison. June worked in retail sales since the age of 18 when she started at Tooley Drug Company. She also worked at Tooley Card & Gift, J.C. Penney's and at Wal-Mart until her retirement.
June's hobbies included spending time with friends, playing cards and bingo. She also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino. June's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, which included countless trips to California with her family spending time at the beach.
June is survived by: sons, William (Ann) Olcott of Bakersfield, California and Richard Olcott of Columbus, daughter Holly (Jim) Recek of Columbus; grandchildren, Cheri Olcott-Banks, Steven Olcott, Matt Recek, Dan Recek; great-grandchildren Jami and Alex Olcott; great-great grandchild, Colby Olcott; and Sister-in-law Wanda Dallegge of David City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Carroll, son, Leslie Olcott; brothers, Delmar Dallegge and Don Dallegge.
