Julia Czarnik, age 96, of Genoa, Nebraska died Tuesday June 18, 2002 at her daughter's home in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services are 10:30 am on Saturday June 22, 2002 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Krakow. Visitation will be on Friday after 4 pm at the Church. Vigil services will be held at 4 & 7 pm Friday at the Church in Krakow. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am until service time at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Julia B. Czarnik was born September 19, 1905 in Platte County to Joseph and Catherine (Zions) Swantek. She married Charles B. Czarnik on October 18, 1927 at St. Mary's Catholic Church-Pilsno. They settled on a farm south of Genoa where they raised their family. Charles passed away October 15, 1972. Julia continued living on the farm until 1993 . She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Krakow. She worked for many years as a cook including Gloors Bakery, Columbus Sales Pavilion, and the Greyhound Bus Terminal Cafe.
