Joy Tooley

Joy Tooley, 91, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at Edgewood Vista in Columbus.

Private services will be held.

Joy Lynne (Stiegelmeier) was born on July 17, 1934, in Mobridge, SD, to Ben and Emma Stiegelmeier. She attended grade school and high school in Java, SD, and graduated with a degree in Home Economics from South Dakota State in 1956.

Her career included teaching Home Economics in Eureka, SD, working at Central Electric and Gas in Norfolk, NE. She married John Tooley in 1959. After moving to Columbus, she worked for Loup Power as a Home Economist giving demonstrations to high school students and women's organizations. After retiring from Loup Power, she worked at Crown Jewelry.

She is survived by:
Patrick (Yvonne) Tooley of Columbus, Steven (Suzanne) Tooley of Omaha, Chris Tooley of Tulsa, OK
Grandchildren:
Morgan Tooley, Blake Tooley, Laura Tooley, Kristin Lundgren, Heather Hellbusch, Matthew (Jenny) Hellbusch
Great grandchildren:
Carsen Lundgren, Parker Lundgren, Ellie Hellbusch, Henry Hellbusch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Beverly Schnaible.
