Joseph Bogus, 54, formerly of Columbus, passed away December 19th in Seattle, Washington.
He was born on November 22nd, 1961 in Columbus to Bernard Bogus and Mary Messersmith-Hitch. Joe was the oldest of four children. Joe attended St. Bonaventure grade school, graduated from Columbus Scotus in 1980, and received his associates degree from Milfords tech college in 1982. He spent much of his career working in sales for Coleman Powermate. Joe lived the majority of his life in Kearney, Minden, Columbus, Lincoln, Omaha, and Seattle. He had a passion for Husker sports, the Minnesota Vikings, NASCAR, and hunting.
Joe is survived by his parents: Mary and Ron Hitch of Grand Island and Bernie and Jolene Bogus of Schuyler; his children: Jake (Jena) Bogus of Lincoln and Hanna Bogus of Omaha; his brothers: Kurt (Christine) Bogus of Grand Island and Mike Bogus of Lincoln; and his sister: Kim (Kevin) Ottman of Grand Island. He had eight nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his grandparents: Joe and Mary Bogus and Robert and Roberta Messersmith of Columbus.
