Joseph Baumert

Joseph H. Baumert was born May 11, 1930 in Howells, Nebraska to Joseph F. and Theresa (Shanle) Baumert. He received his education at St. Bonaventure High School where he graduated in 1947. Joseph was married Karla Speckmann on January 23, 1960 in Columbus. He worked at Behlen Manufacturing for 40 years in the purchasing department. Joseph also served in the National Guard for 23 years until his retirement at the rank of Major. He enjoyed fishing, reading, carpentry, travel, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was active in the Behlen Retirement Club, member of St. Bonaventure Church, Elks Club and the American Legion. Memorials are directed to the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
