Joe died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
Joseph A. Buresh was born February 7, 1934 southwest of Morse Bluff, Nebraska to Joseph J. and Mary A. (Hladky) Buresh. When he was 3 weeks old his family moved to a farm northeast of North Bend, Nebraska. Joe attended District #10 school and graduated from North Bend High School in 1952. He joined the Nebraska National Guard in 1952 until being discharged in 1961. On November 15, 1955 Joe was united in marriage to Magdalene Hegemann at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, Nebraska. The couple moved to a farm northwest of Rogers, Nebraska where he farmed until 1991 when they moved to Columbus. Joe worked for Bob Lindhorst at Ebel Inc. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, EME and worked with the RCIA program. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council member and the first Grand Knight of the St. Isidore Council #12086. He was also a member of the Hartman Post #84 American Legion and presented roses to new mothers for the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Joe enjoyed Czech music and organized the Star-Lite Polka Band years ago. He would play his accordion for the enjoyment of Nursing Home residents, Senior Centers and Czech Festivals.
