Jolene Svehla

Jolene Svehla of Columbus died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.

Jolene Svehla was born July 12, 1945 on the farm in Madison County to Joseph and Geraldine (Mueting) Preister. She attended St. Bernard grade school and graduated from Lindsay Holy Family High School. On September 18, 1965, Jolene was united in marriage to Joseph Svehla at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. They lived in Madison before moving to Columbus in 1971. Jolene ran a day care for the majority of her life. She started working for Walmart in 2005 and retired in 2015. Jolene loved spending time with her grandkids, playing cards, Husker sports, and volunteer reading at the Catholic Elementary Schools. She was member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and was an EMHC.
