John Szelag

John A. Szelag, age 62, of Columbus, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Omaha.

John A. Szelag was born August 30, 1953 in Columbus, Nebraska to John S. and Cecelia (Zywiec) Szelag. He received his education at Columbus High School and graduated in 1971. John married his high school sweetheart, Sandy Dreifurst on October 13, 1973 at St. Isidores Catholic Church. To this union they were blessed with two children, Angela and Corey. John worked at Orion Corporation for the majority of his adult life. He retired from Orion Corporation in 2013. John was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. John had many hobbies. His favorites were horse racing, fishing and going to the casinos. He and Sandy enjoyed playing poker with their card club. John loved being around family and friends. He loved interacting with the nieces and nephews and spoiling them all.
