John Rieck

John Rieck, age 72, of Columbus, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home. Burial is in Columbus Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post # 84, American Legion Honor Guard. The funeral service will be broadcast live on the McKown Funeral Home Facebook page. John Lynn Rieck was born May 12, 1948 to Arthur and Marie (Johnson) Rieck in Primrose, Nebraska. He graduated from Spalding High School in 1966. After high school, he went to work for Bykerk Electric. John joined the National Guard in 1968 and completed his service in 1973. He was united in marriage to June Faulkner on August 28, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus. To this union, his three children were born. The couple raised their family in Columbus. John worked for Johnson electric, Sackett Electric, and Cargill in Schuyler. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. John also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
