John Robert Curry

John Robert "J.R." Curry, age 17, of Columbus died Saturday; February 17, 2001 as a result of an auto accident near Columbus, Nebraska. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. The Rev. Don Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday 4-8 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and Tuesday 10:00 until service time at the church.

J.R. was born February 17, 1984 in Columbus, Nebraska to John & Debbie (Andrews) Curry.
J.R. received his early education at North Park Elementary , Columbus Middle School and Immanuel Lutheran School. He attended Mt. Michael Prep School and was currently a junior at the Columbus High School. He was a member of Federated Church. J.R. was involved in many activities. He was a member of The Flight Club Soccer Team since 1993. He also played on the Columbus High School soccer team and ran cross country. He was currently a member fo the Columbus swim team. During the summer J.R. had worked at the Columbus Aquatic Center as a life guard and as a private swimming instructor. For several summers he worked during the detasseling season. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to the family cabin.
