Joann Schnelle

JoAnn Schnelle, age 72, of Monroe, Nebraska died Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services are 10:30 AM Monday at McKown Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Sparling officiating. Visitation is 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Jody was born on June 4, 1948 in Elgin, NE to Frederick & Lila (Stege) Haley. Her family moved to Columbus in 1959.  She attended school in Elgin and Columbus High.  In 1964 she married Ron Sutton.  Together they had four boys, Tod, Jeff, Ronnie and Terry.  They later divorced.  On January 8, 1993 she married Donnie Schnelle.  They lived in Columbus before moving to Monroe.

She worked at Dale Electronics, Behlen Manufacturing, and M Mart. She also served on the Monroe fire department as an EMT.

Jody enjoyed playing cards, camping, word searches, stock car racing, making Christmas cookies with the grandchildren, and spending time with family and friends.

Jody is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Charles (Donnie) Schnelle of Monroe; her children Tod Sutton of Genoa, Jeff (Rose) Sutton of Central City, Ronnie (Corie) Sutton of Clarks, Terry (Megan Stenzel) Sutton of Silver Creek and Laura (Robert) Reynolds of Champaign, IL; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Kent (Kathy) Schnelle, Randy (Ruth) Schnelle and Karla Fuller; 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren with one more on the way, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick & Lila Haley; brother, John Haley; and in-laws Carl & Shirley Schnelle.
