Joan Wurdeman was born April 7, 1938 in Columbus, NE to Margaret (Ewert) Ahrens. She graduated from Kramer High School in 1956. Joan married Marlyn Wurdeman on March 31, 1956. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus where she worked at Kmart for 20 years and at JC Penny. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Evening Guild.
