Joan Sokol

Joan Sokol, age 77, of Columbus, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Joan Sokol was born September 7, 1940 in Columbus, Nebraska to Felix and Rose (Bryl) Stachura. She received her education at St. Stanislaus Grade School and graduated from Duncan High in 1958. She worked at Becton-Dickinson for several years. Joan married Donald Sokol on September 3, 1966 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. Along with raising her family she worked at Columbus Florist and most recently at Bobs Pharmacy. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Sprigs and Sprouts Garden Club, Scotus Mothers, Twins Club and was active with cancer awareness. She served on the church decorating committee, helped clean the church and perpetual adoration. Joan enjoyed shopping, traveling and attending her children's and grandchildren's events.
