Merna Joan (Osborn) Jenkinson of Columbus died at home June 24th, 2008.
Joan was born to Andy & Maude (Rife) Osborn in Powers County, Colorado on November 23, 1934. On September 13th, 1953 she married Clyde Jenkinson at Pleasant Heights Church in rural Lamar, Colorado. They moved to rural Columbus Nebraska in 1960 where they farmed until 1970. They moved into Columbus where they operated Jenkinson & Son Trucking. Joan operated the Columbus Truck Plaza Cafe until 1993. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include: husband, Clyde, children Shirley (Mike) Koch, Karen (Jerry) Anderson, James (Kathy) Jenkinson all of Columbus, Clark (Shiela) Jenkinson, and Carolyn Jenkinson of Stanton, daughters-in-law, Pat (Arthur) Jenkinson and Barbara Jenkinson of Columbus. Sisters, Evelyn Tucker, Columbus, Paula (Ivan) Haddock, Omaha, Brothers Fred (Faye) Osborn, David City, Bill (Lila) Osborn, Lamar Colorado. 31 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Arthur, two sisters, Linda Balmer, & Doris Smith, and twin brother Joe.
