Jimmie E. Zimmerman of Columbus died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at his home in Columbus.

Jimmie E. Zimmerman was born December 30, 1946 in St. Edward, NE to Fred and Wilma (Schlyter) Zimmerman. The family moved to Columbus in 1956 where he received his education at Columbus Public Schools. Jim enlisted in the US Army and served his country from 1966 until 1969. He married Wilma C. Swolley on December 28, 1967 in Columbus. Jim worked for BD's for 3 years before going to work the last 37 years at Tasty Toppings, Inc. Jim also worked part time for Columbus Cemetery. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and the American Legion. Jim enjoyed Late Model Racing, taking care of his yard, listening to music, traveling to Denver, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Wife Wilma C. Zimmerman of Columbus, NE
Son Jeff E. (Alyssa) Zimmerman of Columbus, NE
Son Dean K. (Sharon) Zimmerman of Elmwood, NE
Brother Norman (Janet) Zimmerman of Columbus, NE
6 Grandchildren:Brandon, Isabelle, Bryan, Jacey, Christopher Reynolds, and Cory Reynolds

He is preceded in death by his parents.
