Jim "Willie" White, 75, of Columbus, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Butler County Health Care Center in David City after a brief illness.
Jim was born Dec. 18, 1939, to Claude and Nety (Page) White in Truman, Arkansas. Jim was the youngest of seven children. Jim, best known as Willie to his friends, drove a semi for a short time. He was employed by Gerhold Construction before being employed at Camaco for 23 years, where he retired.
Jim was married to Joyce (McKee) White for 39 years. He was a Nebraska Cornhuskers and Chicago Cubs fan. Jim was an avid NASCAR fan and a huge Willie Nelson fan. While married, Jim and Joyce raised six children and many grandchildren. Jim was ecstatic when his twin granddaughters Kaylynn and Lola Behne were born on his 70th birthday. Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.
Willie had many friends that he would do anything for. He loved working on his friends vehicles and was a jack-of-all-trades. There was nothing that he could not do.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce (McKee) White of Columbus; daughter, Jennifer (Glen Mueller) Werts of Columbus; son, Jeff (Chrisy) White of Columbus; son, Bobby (Dominique) White of Columbus; son, Jimmie (Brenda Miller) White Jr. of David City; daughter, Angela White of Columbus; daughter, Tiffany (Doug) Behne of Columbus; 13 granddaughters; four grandsons; one great-grandson; four step-granddaughters; one step-grandson; and three brothers, Bill, Chuck and Kenny.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Nety (Page) White; three brothers, John, Ernie and Hollis; father- and mother-in-law, James and Lola McKee Sr.; brother-in-law, James Big Jim McKee Jr.; and nephew, Jason McKee.
