Jim Lange

James "Jim" Lange, age 66, of Kearney, died Friday, March 26, 2021 at his home in Kearney.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday April 4, 2021. There will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service all at the McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Monday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Jim was born September 18, 1954 in Columbus, Nebraska to James G. and Elsie (Markytan) Lange. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High in 1972. He received his degree in Industrial Arts from North Texas State University. Upon his return to Nebraska he worked at the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the maintenance department until his retirement. Jim was previously married to Hai Herd. He enjoyed spending time with his family, music, and woodworking. Jim was a gentle generous spirit.
