James “Jim” Hough of Bellwood passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Lincoln.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bellwood. Interment will be in St. Mary’s and St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in rural Bellwood.

Jim was born on August 9, 1951, in Columbus to Raymond and Meraldeen “Mert” (Kirchner) Hough. He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1969. Jim was actively involved in the family farming operation for more than 50 years, primarily feeding cattle. He took great pride in his work and especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Jesse Hough, Jen Hough, Jody (Mike) Hacker, and Jill (James) Williams; his grandchildren, Trevor, Alexis, Braylon, and Avery; and his siblings, William (Sara) Hough, Sharon Hough, and Daniel (Peggy) Hough.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
