Jerome died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Jerome I. Staroscik was born February 13, 1936 in Columbus, Nebraska to Ignatius and Clementene (Nosal) Staroscik. He graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1955. Jerome served in the National Guards from 1953 1956 and then Active Duty with the U.S. Army from 1956 1958. Following that he continued to serve in the Active Reserves for three more years. Jerome spent 15 months in Korea in the Army. He married Marian Zimmerman in 1962. Jerome worked at Behlen Manufacturing, Teds Tea Room, Tractor Supply Company and then at Enterprise Electric for 35 years until retiring in July of 2007. He loved to listen to Polka music, do lawn work and gardening and especially enjoyed family get togethers, Husker sports and having coffee with his friends at the coffee shop.
Jerome was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Knights of Columbus #938, Perpetual Adoration and the weekly Medjugorje Rosary Group. He also served as an usher and helped clean the church. He was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. #3704.
