Jerome Reisdorff

Jerome Reisdorff, age 88, died Monday, September 16, 2024, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024, at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Visitation is Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. followed by a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m., at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Shelby, Nebraska. Military Honors by The American Legion Post #296 – Shelby.

Jerome Reisdorff was born May 8, 1936, to Hershel and Agnes (Richter) Reisdorff in Osceola, Nebraska. He graduated from Shelby High School class of 1954. Jerome was a US Army veteran serving from 1955 until 1957. After returning home from the service Jerome attended Norfolk Junior College. On December 30, 1957, Jerome was united in marriage to Barbara Coffin at Sacred Heart in Shelby, Nebraska. He went on to work for Phillips 66 propane department in Shelby. Jerome later farmed in the Shelby area up until retirement in 2002. Alongside farming, Jerome also worked at Moorman Feed. He was a Polk County Commissioner for 16 years. He loved cards, casinos, horseracing, and spending time with his family and friends. Jerome was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in rural Bellwood.
