Jerome "Spider" J. Kudron of Columbus died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at UNMC in Omaha.
Jerome "Spider" John Kudron was born February 26, 1924 in Tarnov, NE to Adolph J. and Anna (Startz) Kudron. He received his education in Tarnov. In April 1941, Jerome signed up for the Civil Conservation Corp where he was a night watchman and drove a truck. In 1942 he entered the US Navy and served until 1946. On July 26, 1950 he was united in marriage to Virginia M. Kuta at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. In 1954 he helped build the Gavins Point Dam in South Dakota. Jerome did carpenter work for Mimick Construction until 1976 when he went to work for Columbus Public Schools until retiring in 1989. After his retirement he volunteered at the Columbus Senior Center and attending Navy reunions across the country. Jerome was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, American Legion, VFW, and AARP. Jerome loved jig saw puzzles, word search and computer games, traveling to all 50 states, gardening, avid Cubs fan, and attending family sporting events.
