Jerome Cyza

Jerome died Friday, March 28, 2014 at his home.

Jerome Cyza was born April 18, 1943 in Genoa, Nebraska to Lonny and Julia (Czarnick) Cyza. He attended District #55 School in Merrick County and District #16 School in Polk County before graduating from Columbus High School in 1961. Jerome served in the Army Reserve 403 MP POW Camp Unit from 1962 1968. On January 25, 1969 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Borer at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. The couple lived in rural Polk County. On April 16, 1969 Jerome and his brothers started Cyza Brothers Sand & Gravel. He also farmed and raised cattle with his brothers. Jerome was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he took care of the lawn and snow removal for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Silver Creek American Legion Post #263. Jerome's favorite hobby was giving his grandchildren rides on the four- wheeler.

He is survived by:

Son: John Cyza of Columbus, NE
Brother: Vergel (Carol) Cyza of Columbus, NE
Brother: Ronald (Yvonne) Cyza of Columbus, NE
Sister: Evelyn (John) Prososki of Clarks, NE
Sister: Marcy (Bill) Konz of Columbus, NE
Sister: Maxine (Al) Becker of Columbus, NE
