Jeffrey Reicks

Jeffrey J. Reicks age 64, died Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, Nebraska.

Funeral services are pending at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.

Jeff was born April 13, 1961, in Albion, Nebraska to LaVern “Crickett” and Rita (Ketteler) Reicks. He grew up in Red Cloud, Nebraska where he graduated from High School in 1979. Jeff lived in various locations over the years throughout NE, he did reside in Colorado for a period of time but ended up back in NE closer to family. Jeff has one son Zach. When Zach was younger, he was coach of Zachs baseball team. As Zach started his racing journey, Jeff was a very vital part in him getting started and keeping the passion going. In later years Jeff enjoyed being with Zach and his family. He loved his grandkids very much. Before he got diagnosed with A-Typical Parkinson’s, he enjoyed fishing and just being grandpa. Jeff started working in the plumbing, heating and air business for other companies in his younger years. In 1996 he returned to Red Cloud and started his own plumbing, heating and air business, Reicks Plumbing. He had a successful business for many years. Jeff was a very talented man when it came to various jobs. There wasn’t anything he was afraid to tackle. Always creating and fixing things, something he got from his dad. While in Red Cloud he served on the Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He ended his volunteering there as Chief. Jeff loved all things fishing and golfing. Jeff was a worker.

Jeff is survived by: Son Zach (Ashley) Reicks of Columbus Grandchildren: Leyton, Camden, and Lily Reicks Siblings: Dave, LuAnn, Pam, Bev and Scott

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Jim and infant brother: Michael
