Jeanne K. Gehring

Jeanne K. Gehring, age 48 of Columbus, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at her home after a three year struggle with Alzheimers. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Bible Baptist Church in Columbus. Pastor Robert Walker will officiate. Visitation is Thursday 4-8 p.m. and Friday 12:00 noon until service time all at the Bible Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery.

Jeanne Kay Gehring was born April 12, 1959 in Columbus, Nebraska to Walter and Grace (Kruse) Gehring. As a child she attended Fairacres School in Columbus. She resided with her parents until their deaths. From June of 2002 until her death she lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Janell and Stephen Anderson.

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. She spent many hours reading books, and especially loved the weekly Sunday School paper from her church. She also loved music and collecting song books. Despite having Downs Syndrome, Jeanne had an exceptional memory. She enjoyed memorizing names, birthdays, and addresses of numerous family and friends. She was a friend to all she met. She greatly enjoyed her nieces, nephews and all of their children.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Walter and Grace and 2 nieces: Charlene Gehring and Joan Griesman.
