Janice Swiney

Janice L. Swiney, age 70, of Columbus, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at her home in Columbus.

Janice Linda Swiney was born October 5, 1943 in Bloomfield, Nebraska on a farm to Willard and Betty (Bartsch-Wallen) Kumm. She graduated from Columbus High in 1961. Janice worked at Becton-Dickenson from 1961-1968. She married Loren Swiney on February 13, 1968. They lived in Missouri from 1972-1979 while Loren worked for the US Chamber of Commerce. Janice served as his secretary during this time and continued throughout their professional careers. They returned to Columbus in 1992 and have lived here since. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, including crocheting and she made many gifts for family and friends.
