Janice E. Quante

Janice died Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Janice Evelyn Quante was born June 16, 1939 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Clifford and Amy (Smith) Quante. She graduated from Columbus High School and took classes at Northeast Community College, Peru State and Columbus Beauty College. Janice lived most of her life in Columbus. Her family vacations included Disneyland, Knottsberry Farm & the Wax Museum of Movie Stars. They visited their cousin Ron Smith in Mento Park and toured China Town. They toured Washington D.C. and Florida where they visited many places including the St. Petersburg Wax Museum. In 1987 Janice won a Silver Pontiac Grand Am from Ernst Auto on a radio promotion which allowed her to take her sister Donna and Nephew Michael to Gulf Port, MS to attend the anniversary of Harold and Pauline Smith. They also toured Graceland while they were there. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Evening Circle, Jobs Daughter, Girl Scout Leader, Eagles Club, Rainbow Center and belonged to a Library Book Club. Janice enjoyed helping the younger Sunday School children at church. Her youth fellowship group traveled to the Passion Play of Jesus in South Dakota and also took a trip to the Chicago Museum where they saw the movie Ben Huhr. She also traveled to the Holy Land with Reverend & Mrs. Wilson and a church group. They visited Rome and Egypt where Janice got to ride a camel. Janice enjoyed reading and watching T.V.
