Janice Hueschen

Janice Hueschen, age 68, of Platte Center, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Janice was born June 15, 1949 in Columbus, Nebraska to Rudy and Irene (Small) Slusarski. She received her early education at St. Bonaventure Grade School, Monroe Public Schools and graduated from Monroe High in 1967. She continued her education at Kearney State College with a degree in Home Economics in 1971. Janice married Lee Hueschen on August 7, 1971 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Along with raising her family she taught at Columbus Jr. High, Central Community College, Scotus and Lakeview High School. She also worked as a substitute teacher in many schools. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the area Home Economics Club, 4-H Leader, EMHC, and taught CCD. Janice enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting, cooking, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.

Grandchildren: Luke and Ainsley Soulliere
Son: Quinn (Sarah) of Parker, CO
and 1 expected grandchild
Son: Scott (Brooke) Hueschen of Joshua Tree, CA
Son: Derek Hueschen of Monroe
Brother: Richard (Joyce) Slusarski of Montrose, CO
Brother: Jerome (Peg) Slusarski of Columbus
Sister: Barbara (Michael) Metzger of Kearney
Sister: Paula (Tim) Kelly of Columbus

She is preceded in death by her son: Kent and parents: Rudy and Irene Slusarski
