Janette (Fyfe) Ryba of Columbus passed away peacefully with family and friends on Jan 4, 2016 at Sumner Place in Lincoln.
Janette was born on Nov 3, 1935 to Lester and Esther (Mausbach) Fyfe in Columbus Nebraska. She attended Saint Bonaventure High School where she graduated in 1954. Janette was united in marriage to Thomas J Ryba on Feb 14, 1956 at St Bonaventure Church in Columbus and to this union, two children were born, Traci and Jodi. She was a housewife and stay at home mom until her husband passed when she began working at the Columbus Middle School cafeteria where she had a positive impact on numerous kids until her retirement.
Janette was member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, a 50 year member of the Eagles Club, a member of the DAV Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family and always pushed them to do their best. She loved to paint ceramics and was known as the Santa Lady. She was an avid sports fan and loved going to games and watching her favorite teams on TV. Go Huskers.
She is survived by her daughters Traci Ryba-Grant (Jim Grant) of Columbus and Jodi Ryba (Gary Kimminau) of Lincoln. Three grandchildren, Tori & Nathan Kimminau and Lia Grant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Robert (Bob) Fyfe and two infant children.
