Services for Tony and Jane are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation is Friday 4-6 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. vigil service all at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will continue Saturday morning 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery near Bruno, Nebraska.
Jane Divis died February 18, 2024, in Columbus, NE. She was born Jane Rita Boroviak in David City, on January 18, 1939; daughter of Stephen and Mary Boroviak. Jane was raised on a farm west of David City and graduated from David City High in 1956. In high school Jane was in band (flute), choir, pep club council, student council, thespians, the school paper (editor), junior class play: operetta, and football queen her senior year.
While majoring in English at UNL Jane married Tony Divis on January 24, 1959, and helped raise three children. She was a savvy businesswoman; had a great talent for real estate investments and was a successful Amway distributor for over 30 years. Jane and Tony established the TJD company, which eventually grew into a lucrative rentals and farming business.
Jane was an amazing wife, mother, and friend to many people. She had an endlessly positive can-do attitude and always gave 110% when it came to helping others. She was also a very artistic individual. She loved poetry, movies, paintings, sculptures, and had an extensive music collection. Composer George Peterson wrote music to five of Jane's poems and a debut performance of these works occurred at a composer forum in Monterey, CA, April 22, 2018.
Jane was preceded in death by her daughter, Dee Ann Divis.
Jane is survived by her husband Tony Divis; sons Dave and Dean Divis; daughter-in-law, Deborah Divis; grandchildren Brielle, Basie and Miles Divis; sisters, Joan Tooley, Jackie Mullen, Judy Moore; and brothers Bill Miller, Michael Boroviak, and Steven Boroviak. Jane will be greatly missed by her family, many friends, and associates she had the pleasure of working with over her successful career.
