James A. Zlomke, 67 of Columbus, Nebraska died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer and back ailments.
James A. Zlomke was born September 16, 1944 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Arnold and Eva (Ross) Zlomke. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1961. James moved to Manhattan, Kansas where he worked on a farm during the day and managed a theater at night. He then moved back to Grand Island where he was employed at the Country Club. In 1970 he was transferred to the Elks Country Club in Columbus. On January 27, 1974 James was united in marriage to Chris Ford at the Methodist Church in Grand Island. In 1977 he went to work at Cargill for 38 years until back and kidney surgery force him to retire. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Grand Island and the Eagles Club. James was an avid bowler and loved to fish and hunt.
