James died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at his home in Columbus.
James E. Warnecke was born July 12, 1938 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Ervin and Leola (Gilmore) Warnecke. He graduated from Norfolk High in 1958 and attended Norfolk Junior College. On February 14, 1960 James was united in marriage to Marcia Meyer in Norfolk. He worked for Montgomery Ward, Jackson Services, Excel and Cunningham Custom Woodworking. Jim was the "Go to Man". He did a lot of rebuilding homes for his children and extended family. Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and a huge Husker fan. "Go Big Red"!
