James Swerczek of Columbus died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
James was born April 27, 1946 in St. Edward to Frank and Esther (Coldwell) Swerczek. He received his education at Columbus High School. He served in the Unites States Air Force from 1963 until 1984. He served stateside and abroad in Thailand, Germany as well as other locations. James married Erika Hammer in Weisbaden, Germany. To this union, Andrew was born. He lived in California before returning to Columbus. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Gregory on June 17, 1994, in Columbus, Nebraska. He worked at various locations including CAMACO. He enjoyed horse racing and Nebraska football. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
