James Vincent Kelly

James died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at his home in Columbus.

James Vincent Kelly was born July 12, 1933 in LeMars, Iowa to Vincent and Erma (Woodley) Kelly. He graduated from High School in Akron, Iowa and attended South Dakota State in Vermillion, South Dakota. On July 28, 1956 James was united in marriage to Jane Kaschmitter in Sheldon, Iowa. The couple moved to Huntington Park, California where he worked for Oscar Mayer and Safeway. They then moved to Norwalk, California where he worked for Helm's Bakery. Their six children were born there. They moved to Columbus in 1965 and worked for Jackson's Laundry, Guy's, Frito Lay and then retired from Becton-Dickinson. James enjoyed biking, gardening, wintering in Arizona and watching sports, especially baseball. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Holy Hour and regularly attended First Friday Mass.

Son: Jack (Lynda) Kelly of Chico, CA
Sister: Colleen (Dean) Soulliere of Columbus, NE
Twelve Grandchildren
Three Step-Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents.
