James “Jim” Harrin, 76, passed away on September 2nd, 2026. Jim was born to his parents, Joe and Joann Harrin, on February 26th, 1950 in Bushnell, Florida.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Columbus, Nebraska.

After school, he was a ranch hand until 19, where he soon after enlisted in the Army. Jim served 8 years and did multiple tours in Vietnam, earning many medals; including the Bronze Star, Air Medal with Valor, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. After serving his country, Jim became a professional Bronc Rider and traveled to many rodeos until he met Kathy and they married a year later. After Jim turned in his saddle, he took to the roads again, but this time with an 18-wheeler. For 30 more years he hauled freight while traveling the United States. He knew the USA like the back of his hand.

Jim had various hobbies and interests over the years, including coin collecting, reading, puzzles, and a love for Country and Bluegrass. More than anything, he loved to spend time with his family, and would do anything for those he loved.

Survived by wife, Kathy Harrin (Eckholt); children, Judy (Shon) White, Janice Harrin, Kathy (Vic) Brockhaus, Michelle (TJ) Walker, Mike (Judy) Eckholt, Joe (Melynne) Harrin; grandchildren, Christina Harrin, Logan Harrin, Zachary Brockahus, Curtis Brockhaus, Shon Brockhaus, Mikaela Juranek, Matthew Walker, Marissa Walker, Jordan Eckholt, Lexi Eckholt, Halle Dodson, Ashton Eckholt, Karlee Harrin; great- grandchildren, Raelynn Brockhaus, Ava Brockhaus, Carly Brockhaus, Kayden Zysset, Mimi Zysset, Bentley Juranek, Reagan Juranek, Ridge Walker; mother Joann Harrin; siblings, Leo Harrin, Steve Harrin, Mary Ann Goodman, Sandra Hunnicutt; many nieces and nephews.
