James "Jim" Hardesty

James “Jim” E. Hardesty of Columbus died Friday, April 17, 2026 in Columbus.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.

James Edward Hardesty was born September 26, 1952 in Blythville, AK to John and Lorene (Halsey) Hardesty. Jim grew up in Arkansas until moving to Chicago at the age of 14. Jim graduated in 1968. Jim married Rosa Garza on August 3,1974 in Chicago. They lived in Chicago for 17 years before moving to Columbus in 1986 with EGS-Appleton Electric. He worked for them for 38 years before retiring. Jim then went to work for BHS Seekers of Serenity for 18 years.

Jim loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, shooting pool, and performing card tricks.

Jim was a proud active member of AA for 45 years.

Jim is survived by

Wife Rosa Hardesty of Columbus

Son Mark (Yolanda) Hardesty of Glenwood, IA

Grandchildren Malachi, Eve, Priscilla, and Lazarus

Son Jerzy Hardesty of Lincoln

Son Nicholas (Tina) Hardesty of Papillion, NE

Grandchildren Lily, Abel, and Gabi
