James Fairchild, age 55, of Columbus died Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Omaha.
James was born November 4, 1961 in Osceola to Vern and Alice Lucille (Thomas) Fairchild.
He grew up in Wayne where he graduated from high school in 1980. He was a member of the Boys Scouts and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Jim attended the Nebraska Law Enforcement Academy. He began working as a Columbus Police Officer in December 1982. He later joined the Platte County Sheriff Department. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He celebrated 27 years of sobriety and was active with A.A.
James is survived by:
Father: Vern Fairchild of Lincoln
Brother:Robert (Shannon) Fairchild of Omaha
Aunt: Pearl Wathor of Princeton, NE
Uncle: Jim Thomas of Parker, AZ
He was preceded in death by his mother: Alice Lucille Fairchild
