Funeral services for James E. Classen will be10:30 a.m. Saturday; February 16, 2002 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Weisbecker will officiate.Visitation will be Friday 6-7 pm at the McKown Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial at a later date will be in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.

James E. Classen was born December 22, 1927 in Humphrey, Nebraska to Englebert & Magdeline (Werner) Classen. He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. He served in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. He retired in 1967 as a Chief Petty Officer. He received his Masters Degree in Education. He taught in the Columbus Public School System. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. He was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars #3704 where he was a past Commander and the past District Commander of District #15. He also belonged to the American Legion Hartman Post #84 and the Disabled Veterans.

He is survived by:
