Jack Lee Micek, 68, of Duncan died Monday, June 27, 2005 at Columbus Community Hospital. Services are 10:30 am Thursday, June 30 at St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan with the Rev. Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Visitation is on Wednesday from 3-6 pm at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and continues after 7 pm at St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan. There will be a Vigil service at 8 pm Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Church. Visitation continues Thursday morning from 9:30 am until service time at the church. Burial is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Jack Lee Micek was born March 22, 1937 at his home in Polk County to Jacob and Frances (Stachura) Micek. He grew up on the farm in Polk County and attended District 9 and Shelby Public Schools. He married Rita Dush on August 6, 1960 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Jack lived in Duncan where he worked for Husker Coop at their Duncan, Osceola, and Columbus facilities. He enjoyed playing cards, the horse races, gardening, playing pool, watching his grandchildren's sporting activities, and bowling. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish, Holy Name, Butler Township Board Member, and was a past member of the Duncan Volunteer Fire Department.
