Irvin Mueller, age 92, of Columbus, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Columbus Community Hospital.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Ripke officiating. Visitation is Sunday 2:00-4:00 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home. Burial is in Roselawn Cemetery with Military Honors by The American Legion Hartman Post 84.

Irvin Mueller was born June 14, 1933 in Clearwater, Nebraska to Louis and Emma (Suhr) Mueller. He grew up in the Platte County area. He received his education at Monroe High School. During his high school years, he ran track and field and proudly held a record for many years. He was also involved in 4-H, showing hogs and horses. 

On May 24, 1953 Irvin was united in marriage to Juanita Moore in Columbus at Trinity Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. When he returned, he farmed in the Platte Center area for over 30 years, raising Hampshire sheep, cattle, hogs, and Arabian horses. 

Irvin enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, ballroom dancing, running the Downtown Runaround, radio controlled airplanes and boats, and collecting antique tractors.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Cindy Yowell (Nick Terranova) Tampa, FL 

Daughter – Gina Eisenmenger, Columbus, NE 

Daughter – Carolyn Kenny, Reno NV

Daughter –Ginny (Vern) Talley, Amarillo, TX

Many Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren

He is preceded in death by:

Wife- Juanita Mueller

Parents- Louis and Emma Mueller

Siblings- Ernest Mueller, Lilly Bitter, Verna Loseke

Son- Terry Mueller

Sons-in-law: Doug Yowell and Kevin Kenny
