Irene Sheridan

Irene V. Sheridan, age 84, of rural Genoa, Nebraska died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Tarnov, Nebraska with Reverend Rod Kneifl officiating. Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation continues Thursday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial is in the All Saints Cemetery in Columbus.

Irene V. Sheridan was born June 27, 1923 in Tarnov, Nebraska to Joseph E. and Cecelia (Torczon) Zoucha. She graduated from St. Michael's Elementary School in Tarnov and then from Humphrey St. Francis High School in 1940. On December 28, 1959 Irene was united in marriage to Glenn Sheridan at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. The couple made their home north of Monroe, Nebraska. Irene was a homemaker and worked for T. B. Hord Grain Company and for Loup Public Power in Columbus. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Platte Center, Nebraska. Irene enjoyed playing cards, word puzzles and listening to music.
