Irene Eller

Irene T. Eller, 90, died at her home in Columbus, Nebraska, on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday May 30, 2025 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation is on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil, at McKown Funeral Home.

Irene was born on May 30, 1934, in Nance County, Nebraska, to Thomas L. and Valeria (Koziol) Shefcyk. She grew up in Columbus and was a proud member of the community throughout her life.

On August 29, 1952, Irene married the love of her life, Donald L. Eller, at St. Anthony Church, and together they built a life full of love, family, and cherished memories.

Irene had a strong work ethic and contributed to the local economy through her work at Dale's, Lark Bar, Richland Café, and the Colfax County Sheriff's Department. She was a dedicated member of St. Anthony Church and the VFW Auxiliary, always giving back to her community and supporting those in need. Family was at the heart of Irene's life. She was a devoted mother to her sons—Greg, Patrick, Kenneth, and Thomas—and her daughters—Julie and Valerie. She also cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the countless memories shared with those who knew her.
