Imelda "Millie" Rose Eckholt of Columbus died Friday, March 26, 2021 in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 30 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation is on Monday from 4-7 pm with a 7:00 pm Vigil to follow, all at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Tuesday from 1-1:45 pm at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. The Vigil and Funeral will be broadcast live on the McKown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
Imelda Rose Eckholt was born February 28, 1930 in Humphrey, NE to Joseph and Josephine (Schaefer) Schaecher. She was raised on a farm near St. Bernard, NE where she attended schools. On August 2, 1950 she married Kenneth Eckholt in St. Bernard. Mrs. Eckholt and her husband lived in Davenport, IA until 1958 when they moved to Columbus. Millie worked in retail sales for 35 years and owned and operated Mode O' Day. Millie was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Nocturnal Adoration, Tuesday night Rosary Group, Ladies of the Lord, and Legion of Mary.
She is survived by:
Daughter Kathy (Jim) Harrin of Columbus
Son Steve (Kim Kuntz) Eckholt of Genoa
Son John (Connie) Eckholt of Columbus
12 Grandchildren 33 Great Grandchildren 3 Great Great Grandchildren
Sister-in-laws: Marilyn Grasso of Omaha, Helen Eckholt of Lincoln, and Mary Ann Schaecher of Rock Island, IL
