Huberta &Quot;Bert&Quot; Schaf

Huberta died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Huberta "Bert" Schaf was born June 21, 1931 in Osceola, Nebraska to Hubert and Pauliene (Weiser) Bernt. She attended rural Osceola school. Bert was married to Bernard "Ben" Schaf June 25, 1953 at St. Andrew Catholic Church near Osceola. They lived near Shelby, in Columbus and McCook before moving to Leigh, Nebraska in 1961. In 1981 they moved back to Columbus. Bert was a homemaker, babysitter and worked several jobs outside of her home. She was a Boy Scout leader for several years. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, casinos and horseracing. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
